HET IS ECHT WAAR: HEMA EN LOWLANDER INTRODUCEREN TOMPOUCE ALE

IT'S REALLY TRUE: HEMA AND LOWLANDER INTRODUCE TOMPOUCE ALE

Press Release, April 2021 - HEMA is teaming up with botanical brewer Lowlander to release a Tompouce Ale - and it's everything you've ever wanted. The milkshake-like blonde ale (5%) is brewed with vanilla and raspberry. Soft and delicate with a layered sweetness and a fruity finish. Just that extra something familiar from the famous pastry, captured in a can. The limited edition Tompouce Ale is available April 21 through the Lowlander webshop, HEMA webshop and HEMA stores.

HEMA and botanical brewer Lowlander have joined forces for the first time. The two brands, both typical of the "Low Country," found each other in their shared values: optimism, bravery and the desire to make life more fun. The idea of turning two typically Dutch products into a completely new experience soon arose. The result? A distinctive, naturally delicious beer inspired by the HEMA tompouce. When both brands shared the first announcement of the Tompouce Ale on social media on April 1, thousands of positive reactions poured in. What seemed like a joke is now actually on the shelves.

David Cooke, Unit Director Food at HEMA, says enthusiastically, "Many of us love tompouces and beer. During the lockdown we challenged ourselves to combine the two. After many attempts to find the perfect recipe, we are proud to say that we have created an exclusive Tompouce Ale in collaboration with botanical brewer Lowlander. We managed to capture the sweet, vanilla and creamy notes of our famous HEMA tompouce and combine them with a milkshake-like blonde ale, without losing the main characteristics of the beer itself. A light, refreshing beer and a Dutch dream come true. Cheers!"

Most people know the classic taste of the HEMA tompouce, so Lowlander worked hard to bring the taste of nostalgia into a can. And they succeeded. As the botanical brewer adds fresh herbs, spices and fruits to the brewing process, the most remarkable bursts of flavor emerge. The addition of raspberry gives the beer a touch of subtle sweetness. The vanilla contributes to the smooth and creamy finish. The perfect way to enjoy a tompouce without worrying about how to eat it. The Tompouce Ale is a limited edition, so don't wait too long to order - especially if you want to enjoy it on King's Day too!
